The global ETF issuance has exploded, with 15 new cryptocurrency ETFs listed in October

KobeissiLetter released a market analysis indicating that the global ETF issuance is experiencing explosive growth, with the number of global ETFs issued in October increasing by 19% year-on-year, reaching a record 137. This brings the total ETF issuance so far this year to 918, which is 25% higher than the full-year record of 736 in 2024.

In October, 95 new equity ETFs were listed, accounting for 69% of the total; 15 new cryptocurrency ETFs were listed, more than double the number from September. Leveraged equity and structured product ETFs accounted for nearly half of all new funds, totaling 67. At the current pace, the total number of ETFs issued in 2025 is expected to exceed 1,100, ushering in a new historical issuance boom.
