据彭博社报道，英国将调查加密货币的作用，这是对该国政治融资法律进行更广泛审查的一部分，此次审查是由英国改革党一名政治家的贿赂案引发的。
周二，英国社区事务大臣 Steve Reed 在下议院表示，此次将审查外国资金对英国政治的干预情况，审查将于 3 月底提交报告，其结果将纳入政府计划于明年推进的选举与民主相关立法。此前，英国国内担忧本国民主制度易受外国捐款和贿赂影响，此次宣布审查正是基于此。
上个月，英国改革党前威尔士领袖 Nathan Gill 认罪，承认在担任欧洲议会议员期间收受贿赂，以换取发表有利于俄罗斯的言论，被判处 10 年半监禁。
