一名美方官员透露，两人此次通话时间“比以往要短”。该官员称，特朗普政府此前从未要求以色列放缓对黎巴嫩真主党的军事行动。此番施压，缘于伊朗与调解方巴基斯坦指责以色列违反停火协议，特朗普担心继续打击会影响美伊停火，干扰到霍尔木兹海峡的开放。
