dreamDEX is a spot decentralised exchange deployed on Somnia whose matching happens entirely on-chain: the order book lives as contract state, orders match on price-time priority and settlement clears at the validator level, with no private matching engine or separate sequencer, so placement, fill and clearing follow one deterministic path. Every spot pair is quoted in USDso, a Somnia ecosystem stablecoin issued by Frax on the frxUSD architecture.
Its fee model sets maker and taker fees to zero, with costs covered by yield on the stablecoin's underlying reserves and distributed to market makers by a Gaussian weighting of resting notional, time on the book and distance from the midpoint, so quotes nearer the top of book earn more. The spot market opened to the public on 29 June 2026 with USDso/ETH, USDso/WBTC, USDso/SOMI and USDC.e/USDso, followed by up-or-down event contracts on 5-minute, 15-minute and 1-hour windows. REST and WebSocket APIs plus CCXT-compatible bindings frame it as an on-chain liquidity layer for market makers and automated agents.
dreamDEX launched an on-chain spot central limit order book on Somnia in the first half of 2026, with matching and settlement entirely on-chain and no reliance on a centralized matching engine or sequencer; every trading pair went live with zero maker/taker fees, quoted in Somnia's native stablecoin USDso, whose yield subsidizes market making. Founding Trader applications opened on May 21, spot first and perpetuals to follow.
As of September, dreamDEX had processed over $120 million in cumulative spot volume, averaging about $2.8 million a day, with monthly active traders peaking at 10,200 and 95% of orders filled within 24.4 milliseconds. Over the same period the Somnia ecosystem shifted from gaming toward DeFi, prediction markets and agent applications: Prophecy Social reached 33,100 users and 1.3 million predictions, Somnia Agents and Reactivity launched on mainnet in April, and the network measured 1.05 million TPS with finality under 500 milliseconds.
DreamDEX's roadmap sets out the next stage: launch perpetual futures markets; add fair ordering, MEV protection and transaction-level privacy primitives; support yield-bearing collateral and matching infrastructure for low-latency systems; and make API and agent access first-class through REST/WebSocket, a CCXT-compatible layer, MCP, and native AGENTS.md and SKILL.md integration.
