Buybacks: Under its restructuring proposal, the SPS DAO began token buybacks in August: $20,000 USDC was used to repurchase 52.66 million DEC (avg $0.0003418) and 590,488 SPS (avg $0.0033870), followed by $30,000 USDC for 71.94 million DEC in September, with buybacks set to continue.
Revenue/Progress: Since February 28, 100% of the game ecosystem's sales proceeds flow to the SPS DAO until it recovers its initial investment plus 20%, after which revenue splits 50/50 with the company; in September the team shipped a new voucher card set (including the Volley ability) and Modern-format brackets, while the next core set, Battle for Praetoria, is in design and testing.
In July 2026, Splinterlands released the Visions of Verico Land mini-set with 54 new cards and 250,000 packs; the Glint Recovery ability arrived on July 14, followed by Alteration and Fortune Seeker on August 18. On August 4 the game marked its eighth anniversary with Tenrai and Suiko, its first Dragonkin battle cards, alongside a Fortune Draw for ten gold foil Vethos Spineclaws.
The sixth core set, Conclave Arcana, ships more than 85 cards and 11 new abilities, with Archons that summon by bloodline; Escalation Conflicts moved to 30-day cycles in which players stake cards and packs into Mage Wagons to release six new Archons. An August 12 update added a prizes page and Talisman gallery to Splinterlanes, a three-lane battle mode with $0.01 tickets that delivers won cards on-chain, while SPS governance extended the Summer Fun event through the end of August and fixed broadcast congestion during rental peaks.
Splinterlands's Future strategy and roadmap: keep expanding the card economy through Land output and Conflicts staking, refine Collector Binders, mobile performance and spin-off modes such as Splinterlanes, and use SPS governance to tune rewards and the rental market so each new set feeds durable demand for land.
