Về Tezos
Tezos is a layer 1 using liquid proof-of-stake, with accounts, contracts and governance all on-chain, and protocol upgrades amend the chain through on-chain voting rather than hard forks. Its Michelson contract language is designed for formal verification, and Smart Rollups move computation off the main chain while a data-availability layer carries state, so high-throughput applications run while inheriting main-chain settlement; blocks are produced by randomly selected validators in rotation, and delegation lets holders stake without moving keys, with voting weight tied to stake; rollups post state roots back to the main chain and accept challenges.
The 21st upgrade, Ushuaia, activated on June 30, 2026, lifted data-availability bandwidth to 10 MB/s and cut confirmation from about 66 seconds to 12 to 18 seconds. The trade-off is that Michelson sits apart from the EVM toolchain, raising migration costs for developers, and ecosystem liquidity stays thin next to Ethereum layer 2s.

Ecosystem and regulation: Native liquid staking token sTEZ and quantum-resistant tz5 keys entered testnet; on October 6 the CFTC cited XTZ as an example of a digital commodity and on September 17 Anchorage Digital added Tezos custody; the Tezos X mainnet targets summer 2026.
On June 30, 2026, Tezos activated its 21st protocol upgrade, Ushuaia, on mainnet, lifting Data Availability Layer bandwidth 15x to 10 MB/s, making DAL attestation lag dynamic, cutting L1 confirmation from about 66 seconds to 12-18 seconds, and allowing rollup-aligned PVM upgrades to pass through rollup governance. January's 20th upgrade, Tallinn, had already cut block times to 6 seconds and introduced all-baker attestation plus an address indexing registry that improved storage efficiency for Michelson apps by up to 100x.
On Tezos (XTZ), two features reached testnet without mainnet activation: quantum-resistant tz5 accounts using the NIST-standardised ML-DSA-44 signature scheme, and enshrined liquid staking that issues sTEZ. On the ecosystem side, the Etherlink 7.0 proposal, codenamed Ganesha, arrived in late July to bring Michelson contracts and Tezos accounts onto Etherlink with native atomic composability; tokenised uranium xU3O8 listed on Kraken in July, which also completed Kraken's Etherlink integration. The team introduced Quantumnet on September 24.
Future strategy and roadmap: Tezos activated its 21st upgrade Ushuaia on June 30, 2026, lifting data-availability bandwidth 15 times and pulling L1 confirmation to 12 to 18 seconds. Next, per the Tezos X plan, Etherlink evolves into a unified execution layer carrying both EVM and Michelson, with the NIST-standard post-quantum signing account tz5 and native liquid staking sTEZ already on testnet. The second half plans to migrate the rollup engine from WASM to RISC-V so contracts run on a more general instruction set. The priority is using Etherlink 7.0 to bring Michelson contracts into EVM and widen institutional tokenized-asset access.
