Về Zilliqa
Zilliqa is a Layer 1 that has sold itself on sharding since 2017, originally pairing Ethash proof of work with network sharding to spread throughput across sub-chains, and using its own Scilla contract language, whose pattern matching and formal verification reduce reentrancy-style bugs. It later added the EVM-compatible ZILEVM so Solidity contracts deploy directly, with validators carrying staking and delegation, gas paid in ZIL and governance run through on-chain proposals and validator votes.
Its position has shifted from high-throughput chain to institutional settlement, with on-chain identity credentials, compliance checks and cross-border payment pilots as the main venues, Scilla contracts leaving a base in gaming and NFTs and the EVM side absorbing migrated DeFi. It disclosed a nonce flaw in an older Ledger app that let private keys be reconstructed after about five native transactions, paused native transfers and retired the non-EVM network, completing the move to ZILEVM in October 2026. Assets on the old network had to be mapped through a custody contract, leaving wallets and contracts that did not follow on the old chain.

- Một đợt di chuyển sàn giao dịch thứ hai và công cụ tự di chuyển dựa trên ZK dự kiến ra mắt vào giữa tháng 9, cho phép người dùng di chuyển mà không tiết lộ khóa riêng tư.
- Quá trình phục hồi pháp lý và cuộc bỏ phiếu cộng đồng về bồi thường đang diễn ra song song, có khả năng đẩy nhanh việc khắc phục.

2026 was a year of crisis response for Zilliqa. A security incident tied to Ledger led to about 683 million ZIL being stolen, and the team then made a sweeping decision: make Zilliqa EVM the only production side, retire the old Schnorr-signature address system, and migrate all legacy wallets, affected or not, to EVM addresses through official tools. On May 5 the v0.21.0 hard fork activated with state pruning, RANDAO randomness support, a deposit contract v8 upgrade and more flexible checkpoint versioning, easing the network's load first.
The migration pace was set by audits. An August 11 progress update stated that the migration tooling had entered external security audit, with a report expected in early September before any launch date was announced; exchanges aimed to complete the first migration batch by the end of August, restore ZIL deposits and withdrawals afterward, and restore losses verified as exchange operating wallets to the EVM addresses they provided, up to the verified amount. On September 22 the custody contract activated with the hard fork and the self-service migration tool entered pre-release testing; by October the ZILEVM network migration was declared complete, with exchanges including KuCoin finishing integration. The team is also restarting registration for GLEIF vLEI issuance qualifications (QVI), trying to turn compliant identity into an institutional entry point.
Zilliqa plans to finish migration and compensation for retail self-custody wallets, rebuild the validator set and governance structure, and shift the focus to EVM compatibility and institutional-grade infrastructure. The theft forced it to complete an architectural consolidation that would have taken years, and the question now is whether that forced upgrade can be turned into ecosystem appeal.
