eToro is an Israel-headquartered multi-asset broker that entered retail investing through social trading and CopyTrader, also offering crypto, tokenized US stocks and 24/5 trading for global retail and traders. It solves the difficulty retail investors face in copying professional strategies and the fragmentation between crypto and traditional assets by integrating multi-asset trading into a single account via its copy network and tokenized equities. Its technology includes a social-graph-driven replication engine and on-chain stock token issuance, while in the US it keeps only restricted crypto assets such as BTC, BCH and ETH.
On August 11, 2026, eToro announced the acquisition of active-trader brokerage TradeZero for up to 231 million US dollars, adding US broker-dealer and short-selling infrastructure. Its concern is that crypto revenue fell about 30 percent year over year in the second quarter and the stock has retreated well below its IPO price, leaving it dependent on equity and commodity cycles rather than purely a crypto platform.

eToro closed its acquisition of self-custody wallet Zengo on April 30, 2026, folding it into the multi-asset account; first-quarter net contribution was $258 million, up 19%, with net income of $82 million, up 37%, and 4.02 million funded accounts. Second-quarter net contribution reached $229 million with net income of $53 million, up 77%, 4.28 million funded accounts and $19.2 billion in assets under administration. On August 11 it agreed to buy US active-trader brokerage TradeZero for $231 million in cash plus up to 2.5 million Class A shares, expected to close in the first half of 2027.
Crypto cooled sharply: July crypto trades fell 73% year on year to 1.4 million with average ticket size down to $182, and crypto contributed only about 5% of net trading profit in the first quarter, leaving growth to equities, commodities and wealth management. Product launches included 24/7 trading in commodities, equities and indices, Japanese equities across 26 exchanges, crypto trading in New York after activating its BitLicense, the eToro App Store, Agent Portfolios and the Tori agent with Grok 4.2 sentiment.
eToro's multi-asset shift hedges a collapse in crypto margin rather than telling a growth story: 1.34 billion dollars of second-quarter crypto revenue carried 1.35 billion dollars of cost and left only 19.7 million dollars of net income from crypto assets, while equities, commodities and foreign exchange produced 141.6 million dollars of net trading income, up 24 percent. July crypto trades fell to 1.4 million, down 73 percent year on year, with the average ticket down 50 percent, so the curve is unlikely to snap back soon. Hence up to 231 million dollars for TradeZero, which brings about 80 million dollars of revenue, an 81 percent gross margin, its own broker-dealer licence and an active-trader base, buying US scale faster than building it; April's Zengo and July's 12.5 million dollar lead in Extended add self-custody and on-chain perpetuals. Of the four pillars, cross-asset migration is what is proven, with six in ten commodities traders moving into equities and nearly nine in ten having traded crypto.

eToro charges crypto spot trades a per-position open and close fee, fixed at 1.00% for the Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, with no maker or taker distinction.
eToro scales rates down by Club tier and monthly volume: Diamond pays 0.30% in the 1 million to 10 million USD band, and above 10 million USD Platinum, Platinum+ and Diamond all fall to 0.10%.
January 2025, eToro secured a Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission Markets in Crypto-Assets licence for trading and custody across the European Economic Area; it also holds a UK Financial Conduct Authority cryptoasset registration and a Gibraltar distributed ledger technology provider licence.
