zERC20 is a cross-chain private ERC-20 protocol that enables private transfers using the same operations as regular ERC-20 tokens. It works directly from wallets like MetaMask. Users wrap assets such as USDC, ETH, BNB and JPYC 1:1 into zUSDC, zETH and similar z-tokens, send them to a burn address with no private key, and recipients redeem equivalent amounts to any unlinked address via zero-knowledge proofs. The mechanism is based on EIP-7503 zkWormhole, making private transfers indistinguishable from ordinary ones on-chain.
