Về Plasma
Plasma is a Bitcoin-anchored Layer 1 purpose-built for stablecoins, aimed at users and payment scenarios needing low-cost, high-throughput movement of dollar stablecoins. Targeting the high fees and slow confirmation of stablecoin transfers on general-purpose chains, its design uses a stablecoin-optimized architecture that treats native transfers and private balances of mainstream stablecoins such as USDT as first-class citizens, with Bitcoin's consensus and zero-knowledge proofs as its security base so stablecoin transfers settle without paying gas.
Plasma's trade-off is an ecosystem heavily reliant on the liquidity and growth of a single stablecoin, USDT, with adoption speed of payment scenarios setting its ceiling; its fit is stablecoin payment and savings users rather than general smart-contract developers. In June 2026 Plasma launched Plasma One, a native stablecoin neobank app with a Visa card.

On-chain USDT transfer volume jumped 327% in May 2026. On October 12, Plasma partnered with payments platform BVNK to support zero-fee stablecoin payouts, with Deel payroll as a flagship use case.
Unlocks are the main overhang: 1 billion XPL unlocked for U.S. public-sale participants on July 28; on September 25 team and investor tokens entered circulation for the first time, a cliff that raised circulating supply by 63.2% (about $152.9 million), with the remaining two-thirds vesting monthly through September 2028; another 227.78 million XPL (about $17.5 million) unlocks on October 25. XPL now trades near $0.08, down roughly 85% from its post-launch high.
On September 25, 2026 about 1.76 billion XPL became transferable, equal to 63.2% of circulating supply at the time — the first third of team and investor allocations after a one-year cliff combined with the monthly ecosystem release; the price has since held near $0.09–0.10, roughly 94% below its all-time high.
On October 1 the team published the Torch validator-rotation design built on Fast-HotStuff, which swaps committees without pausing block production and is due as a white paper by year-end; the same day Bybit's 40th proof-of-reserves report showed 125% coverage for XPL. BVNK added native support on October 12, with Deel using it through BVNK to pay contractors worldwide, and on October 15 Plasma was named a design partner for Stripe's multi-currency stablecoin cards, initially covering five fiat currencies. Official figures put unique users above 4.16 million and daily transactions above 500,000. Future strategy and roadmap: ship the Plasma One consumer app and the Stripe and BVNK payment rails, deliver the Torch white paper and decentralize the validator set, and widen yield-bearing stablecoin and institutional settlement use cases.
Future strategy and roadmap: Plasma's problem is the gap between zero fees and revenue: its Paymaster waives USDT transfer fees to win payment volume, yet it faces Tron's USD 6.1 billion of stablecoin supply and more than USD 20 billion of daily USDT transfers, plus Solana's USD 13.3 billion stablecoin market. With incentives cut by more than 95%, stablecoin supply still holds near USD 2.1 billion and DeFi TVL around USD 5.3 billion, evidence of genuine settlement demand; monetisation must come from Plasma One card issuance and BVNK's enterprise rails. Opening validation addresses single-operator control, but the real test is whether institutional settlement pays service fees beyond the zero-fee promise.
