Về Bitfinex
Bitfinex is a long-established cryptocurrency exchange offering spot, derivatives and lending, with deep liquidity for professional traders and institutions. It has long taken part in building crypto market infrastructure.
The project offers web and API-based trading across many pairs and leveraged products, with risk control and security mechanisms. Emphasizing liquidity, order execution and professional tools, it serves users who need trading depth and maintains trust through continued security and compliance investment, making it an exchange aimed at professional users among centralized platforms.

Buyback and burn: iFinex continuously spends at least 27% of consolidated gross monthly revenue buying LEO on the open market and burning it (running since May 2019), plus 95% of net recoveries from the Crypto Capital case. As of October 8, circulating supply was about 919.86 million tokens, with roughly 8% of the 1 billion issued burned cumulatively.
Hack restitution: On October 6, the U.S. government moved about 264.863 BTC (roughly $23 million) to Coinbase as part of a court-ordered in-kind return of 2016 Bitfinex hack assets to Bitfinex. Bitfinex plans to first redeem Recovery Right Tokens, then direct at least 80% of remaining net proceeds toward repurchasing and burning LEO.
Regulation and price: On May 12, Bitfinex received an El Salvador DASP license, completing its regulated footprint across spot, derivatives and tokenized securities. LEO hit an all-time high near $10.4 in April and traded around $9 in October.
On October 6, 2026, the US government moved 264.863 BTC (about $22.87 million) recovered from the 2016 hack to Coinbase Prime for in-kind restitution to Bitfinex under a 2025 court ruling; about 8.2 BTC had been transferred earlier in April.
Bitfinex plans to redeem Recovery Right Tokens first and then spend at least 80% of remaining net proceeds buying back and burning LEO. LEO's circulating supply fell from 1 billion at the May 2019 sale to 919.86 million on October 8, 2026, a reduction of about 80.1 million tokens (roughly 8%), with monthly burns set at no less than 27% of iFinex's consolidated gross revenue; on October 21 LEO's daily turnover was only about $150,000, almost entirely on its home exchange, against a market cap near $8.2 billion and a rank of 18th. The EU's MiCA transition period ended on July 1, 2026, so German users must confirm venue authorisation.
Bitfinex's Future strategy and roadmap: LEO is priced less by the market than by a formula: iFinex commits at least 27% of consolidated gross monthly revenue to open-market purchases and burns, seven years of which have removed only about 80.1 million tokens, leaving 919.86 million circulating against USD 188,533 of daily turnover — roughly USD 43,000 of market value per dollar traded. The 264.863 BTC return clears Recovery Right Tokens first, with at least 80% of the net then burned, sized by what counts as delivery. Europe is the binding constraint: once the MiCA transition ended, authorisation or a licensed partner mattered more to Bitfinex's revenue base than any further burn.

Bitfinex Securities charges 0% maker and 0% taker on spot trades, with fiat bank wire deposits and withdrawals at 0.100% (minimum $60 to $100) and express wires at 1.000% (minimum $125).
Bitfinex Securities won El Salvador's first digital asset service provider licence from the National Commission for Digital Assets in April 2023; a derivatives licence followed in January 2025 and a spot exchange licence in May 2026, plus a Kazakhstan Astana International Financial Centre licence.
